About

I find a sense of peace within a space I can control, as my art is a personal escapism. That being said, not all of my art is Utopian. Rather, I want to seek out the goodness that is within the world. I find comfort in nature, hence why much of my art revolves around plant life or lush environments. Also, I find comfort in the people I care about, and who care about me. The importance of love (romantic, familial, or platonic) is a major theme in my art, as love helps provide a steady ground for me to avoid spiraling into nihilism due to the state of the world. My art holds a hopefulness through all situations, because if I don’t hold onto those feelings of comfort and belonging, then life becomes meaningless.

In addition to feelings of comfort and hope, I want to seek out ideas of found family within my animations and illustrations by telling stories about finding those who will love you as you are and accepting their love. Not all people biologically related to me will accept who I am. The stories I tell remind me to seek out the people who will accept me as I am, and to abandon the toxic relationships society expects me to stay in. Life is short, I must choose to seek out joy instead of wallowing in misery when I can change it, expressed in my art through adventure and friendship. I must live for the people who love me, for the dogs I have yet to pet, for the flowers I have yet to see, for the food I have yet to eat. Overall, my art is a reminder to myself to seek out what gives me comfort and brings me joy, and through animation and illustration I can romanticize and polish those things. With whimsical environments and vivid colors, I can bring myself joy to live in this world.
